Ok, lets get the big game out of the way first.
Randy Johnson going for win #300. 7:05 pm @ Nationals Park.
I have nothing else to say about this that has not been said yet. Best lefty since Spahn, most intimidating pitcher of our generation, and enemy number one in the dove community.
Beyond the Big Unit...our duels of the night.
1. Ted Lilly v. Derek Lowe- These are two of the more underrated starters in the game. Nothing flashy about either of them, get vets who teams count on to go out and get the job done. Essentially identical records between Atlanta and Chicago this year. Should be a good game.
2. Johnny Cueto v. Kyle Lohse- Lohse is coming of some injury problems after being struck in the forearm during his last start. Cueto has been the ace of the Reds so far this season, with 50K's to only 20BB's in 67.2 innings. His era sits at 2.53, and since his first two starts of the season, he has completed the 7th inning of every game he has started.
One other to keep an eye on is Cliff Lee v. Anthony Swarzak. Cliff Lee had a tough luck May, pitching to a 2.57 era with 30 K's and 7 BB's, earning himself a 1-3 record. Swarzak has produced two quality starts in his first two starts of his career. He does not strike many people out, but he gets the job done thanks to no one getting many hits off him with runners in scoring position.
Tom Glavine was released today. Future Hall of Famer and all around class act.
